Quotations/Meeting the Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama

The Dalai Lama is an enigmatic person.
I had the pleasure of encountering him in my trip to Dharamshala in 2011, where the current exiled Tibetan Government resides in India. Guarded by fierce looking, machine-gun trotting, moustached and pot-bellied Indian soldiers, the largely Tibetan crowds kneeled and bowed in respect as he walked past them.
He passed by me, only a few meters away. I could see his ?smiling? face and somehow I felt a wash of calm all over me. Amazing ?charisma?.

I've watched some documentaries about him, and attended a religious ceremony presided by him. Also met and chatted with locals who shared their experiences with him.
